Tenure Track Positions Available

The University of Louisville School of Nursing is a state supported metropolitan research university. The Health Sciences Center is composed of Schools of Dentistry, Medicine, Nursing and Public Health and interprofessional collaboration is encouraged. EDUCATION
Academic programs include: BSN, MSN and PhD. Undergraduate programs include an accelerated second degree option, an RN/BSN on-line option, an honors track and a traditional pre-licensure program. The Master of Science program offers a variety of advanced practice nurse practitioner and clinical nurse specialist options. The PhD in Nursing Program has a BSN to PhD and a MSN to PhD track. U of L is ranked in the top 25% of schools with graduate programs ranked by US News and World Reports, 2003. An “Initiative for Diversity Excellence” supports recruitment and retention of minority students into nursing.

RESEARCH
The school offers an excellent environment for research support through the Office of Nursing Research and a network of external research mentors. Many opportunities exist for interdisciplinary research.

PRACTICE
The U of L Center for Nursing Practice has a community based Harambee Nursing Center, a Volunteer Caregivers Program, and the Kentucky Racing Health Services Center, providing interdisciplinary health services at Churchill Downs Racetrack. A Center for Cancer Nursing Education and Research is a community initiative to enhance cancer nursing education and practice.

The University of Louisville School of Nursing (ULSON) is seeking qualified candidates for the following tenure track faculty positions in the School of Nursing. The candidate will be expected to conduct externally-funded research and have a teaching and service commitment. Qualified applicants must hold an earned doctorate in nursing or a doctorate in a related field with a master's degree in nursing. Experience teaching in an academic setting is desirable. EEO/AA.

Part-time Faculty

There is a critical nursing faculty shortage. In order to meet the demand for new nurses, we must be able to continue to provide quality nursing education. Please consider sharing your knowledge and skills as a nurse--a part time position allows flexibility while making a much needed contribution to the profession. The University of Louisville School of Nursing is seeking applicants for Fall 2007, part-time clinical teaching in the undergraduate program for maternal-newborn, and adult medical-surgical. At the graduate level, part-time instructors needed for the FNP track, and lecturer for graduate genetics. MSN required. NP Position

WHNP or FNP needed to practice 6 hours per day M-F, 10 months. Position involves providing Women's Health Care at Westport TAPP, an educational program for teen mothers and children. 80% appointment with benefits. Continuing educational benefits also included, malpractice liability insurance and free tuition benefits at UL. Available immediately.
