Guaranteed Early Admissions

The University of Louisville School of Nursing offers an innovative curriculum designed to prepare professional nurses to work in a changing health care system.  The curriculum is based on two years of general studies before beginning the nursing major.  Students are enrolled in two nursing courses in prior to the start of the first Upper Division semester and must satisfactory complete these courses in order to continue into the Upper Division program.

 

Ten spaces are reserved  for  the fall (junior year) clinical cohort at the University of Louisville for freshmen who have successfully completed the first year of full-time course work and meet the GPA requirements.   In the spring (junior year) clinical cohort, ten spaces are reserved for freshmen who have successfully completed the first year of full-time course work and meet the GPA requirements. All students accepted into the program must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher each semester of enrollment in the lower division.

 

College Freshman

In order to be considered for the Guaranteed Early Admissions program you must meet the following criteria:

  • Successful completion of NURS 101 with a passing grade

  • Successful completion of the first year full-time with a 3.0 GPA.

  • Completion of two required science classes ( BIOL 102 and CHEM 105 or their equivalents) with minimum grade of B.
