Missy Humphreys completed a master of science in nursing at the University of Louisville in 2001, certified in adult health. Humphreys obtained family health certification through Northern Kentucky University in 2007. Humphreys worked as a registered nurse in a family practice office in Louisville, Kentucky from 1997- 2001 and transitioned into the NP role following graduation. Humphreys worked in a family practice office until 2018 when she left and worked for about one year in an acute care clinic. She returned to family medicine and has been on faculty with the School of Nursing since May 2018 and currently practices at UofL Health Family Medicine Cardinal Station. Humphreys precepts University of Louisville DNP students in the primary care setting. She has decided to pursue her DNP and anticipates starting in the DNP program in 2021.
