Transition Ceremony
Nursing students at the University of Louisville are planning to commemorate a rite of passage as they move into the final two years and professional phase of their education.
The University Of Louisville School Of Nursing will celebrate their third Transition ceremony Sunday September 7th at 2pm at the Kornhasiser Auditorium. This ceremony recognizes the significant achievement that students have made when they were recently admitted to the Upper Division of the School of Nursing. The ceremony also allows the nursing students to formally commit to the integrity, compassion, and high ethical standards that are integral to the Nursing profession.
Each student will be individually acknowledged at the ceremony and will be asked to sign an honor code that will help define their professional practice. This honor code will then be framed and hung on the wall in the School of Nursing. The students are encouraged to invite family and significant others to this event. A reception at the City Café will immediately follow the ceremony .Refreshments have been generously provided for this event by the University Of Louisville Alumni Association.
It is the hope of the School of Nursing Faculty that this ceremony will help to reinforce a value system that celebrates honesty and integrity among the nursing students.
