Dr. Kiehl to serve as a mentor in Nurse Faculty Mentored Leadership Development Program (NFMLD)
NFMLD Program was created by Sigma ThetaTau International with a grant from the Elsevier Foundation. By enhancing the personal leadership development of new nurse faculty, the program will promote faculty retention and cultivate high performing, supportive work environments in academe.
Ermalynn M. Kiehl, PhD, CSN, ARNP was selected through a
competitive process to participate as a mentor in the program.
She will mentor a new nurse faculty member (scholar) from College
of Nursing University of South Florida during the 18-month leadership
development program.
As a mentor, Dr. Kiehl will specifically:
- Participate in an intensive three-day leadership workshop with her mentee (19-22 April 2010)
- Provide guidance and support to her mentee in the various aspects of the NFMLD, including:
- creation of an individualized leadership development plan
- creation and implementation of a sustainable education leadership project which results in improved educational outcomes
- maintaining ongoing, regular communication with mentee
- Attend NFMLD celebration activities including presentation at STTI's biennial convention (29 October-2 November 2011, Grapevine, Texas, USA)
In addition, Dr.Ainslie Nibert, Vice President, Review and Testing, eEducation,
Elsevier, will serve as expert faculty consultant to this mentor/mentee
pair.
