Upper Division Admissions
Requirements
Prospective students must meet the following requirements before being considered for competitive admission to the Upper Division:
- Complete all pre requisites or be in the last semester of Lower Division coursework.
- Have earned a cumulative program grade point average of 2.8 or higher. The cumulative GPA for admission to Upper Division Nursing is calculated based on all undergraduate coursework completed at accredited post-secondary institutions. Applicant must have a "C" or higher in all required science, nutrition and English courses. There can be no outstanding incompletes in the general education courses prior to beginning nursing courses.
- Have a commitment to complete the accelerated nursing courses in the defined time frame.
Admission Procedure
The Academic Affairs Committee will evaluate applicants for acceptance to the Upper Division, and then notify applicants of their decision via letter.
Accepted students will receive a letter of agreement stating the anticipated start date, the conditions for accepting the space, and consequences of failing to keep the space. This letter must be signed and returned within ten working days of receipt to assure a space in the Upper Division. Accelerated Second Degree Upper Division clinical nursing courses begin in the summer only.
