The University of Louisville offers each and every student a variety of opportunities to create a rich and meaningful experience at the university. Many exciting and dynamic out-of-class opportunities are available for students that will enrich their UofL experience. The difference between having a good experience at UofL and a great experience at UofL can be discovered through out-of-class activities.
The best part of being involved outside of class is deciding what you want to do. No matter your major and no matter what your interest,
there are events and activities that are right for you. And, by being involved, you are able to get the total UofL experience! The Student Activities Office, located in SAC W310, is your involvement headquarters.
As the programming arm of the Student Government Association, the Student Activities Board (SAB) is programming for students. The Student Activities Board provides social, multicultural, recreational, and educational activities for the university’s students and other interested members of the Campus Community. Specializing in movies, lectures, cultural celebrations, concerts, comedy shows, cookouts, and homecoming events, SAB provides co-curricular activities that enhance students’ experiences at UofL. With nearly 300 student organizations on campus, there is a group for every students. Check out the Organization’s Fair the first week of fall semester to learn about different groups or stop by the Student Activities Office. There are 27 chapters of national and international fraternities and sororities at UofL. Greek organizations provide an environment where:
- scholastic achievements of the individual member and the chapter are highly valued
- principles and ideals of rituals are reinforced daily and lived accordingly
- safety of the individual and chapter is paramount
- the fraternity and sorority experience is a quality enhancement to the undergraduate collegiate experience at the University of Louisville

Student Recreation Center
Beginning in Fall 2013, students will enjoy a new $38 million, 128,000-square-foot sports and recreation facility. It will be the first UofL building to be heated and cooled with geothermal energy. For more information, visit louisville.edu/reccenter.
