Service Project

Help us help kids! We have partnered with the UofL Chapter of College Mentors for Kids.  This student organization pairs 2nd-5th grade students with UofL college student mentors to aid in their academic success and development. The goal is to help students perform to the best of their abilities and to reduce or eliminate barriers to learning in an effort to improve education attainment levels of community residences.

Here's where YOU come in! As the newest incoming freshman class at UofL, you have the ability to make an impact in the lives of these young students now! During each Orientation session we will be collecting school supplies to donate to these local elementary schools and their students. Please bring one or more items with you to your New Cards Orientation session!  Following are a few suggestions, but any items will be accepted:

  • Pencils
  • Pencil sharpeners
  • Pens
  • Notebooks
  • Journals
  • Flash cards
  • Backpacks
  • Kleenex/Facial Tissues (any brand)
  • Disinfectant Wipes
  • Glue sticks
  • Composition notebooks
  • Colored pencils
  • Crayons
  • Erasers
  • Highlighters
  • Dry-erase markers
  • Pocket folders
  • Binders
