Billingsley reviewed the timeline for the production of the final draft.  The revised timeline is available online.  Steering Committee members were asked to note the change of schedule for May:  the committee will meet on May 23 rather than May 2.

The equity plans originally presented with the subcommittee reports at the beginning of March have been revised in consultation with the Athletics Department.  Singer presented the gender equity plan, and the committees recommended several revisions to clarify a few points, but overall the committees received and accepted the report with thanks to the committee.  Taylor-Archer reviewed the minority equity plan, which the committees discussed in close detail, refining some of the recommendations.  The plan was committed to Taylor-Archer and Mitchell to revise in accord with the commitees' recommendations.

The steering committee discussed the evaluation to return on the gender and minority operating principles, agreeing that the program is in compliance with the gender equity principle.  The steering committee received an advisory letter from the Commission on Diversity and Racial Equality, which opined that the program is not in compliance with the minority equity principle.  The steering committee took this letter under advisement and will continue the discussion of the compliance evaluation at the meeting of May 23.
