Cynthia Bronner, Co-Director of the University of Louisville Dance Academy and Dance Theatre

Cynthia has been teaching at the ULDA since 1980. She holds an M.A. in dance from the University of Cincinnati, College Conservatory of Music and a B.A. in psychology from the University of Louisville. She served as an officer/executive board member of Regional Dance America/Southeastern Regional Ballet Association for 15 years. She has also developed and/or oversees numerous outreach programs that include dance literacy programs and a ballet program for training figure skaters.

Chuck Bronson, Co-Director University of Louisville Dance Academy and Dance Theatre

Chuck has been teaching at the ULDA since 1981. He holds a B.A. in English from Bellarmine. In addition to teaching at the Academy, he has created dance integration workshops for JCPS teachers, has lesson plans published in the KET Dance Toolkit, and has won awards for choreography including the William Habich Scholarship at the Southeastern Regional Ballet Association Festival and the Al Smith Fellowship from the Kentucky Arts Council.

Kathleen Anderson
Kathleen has taught for the Cincinnati Ballet, the New Orleans Ballet, the New Orleans Contemporary Dance Company, and the Louisville Ballet Civic Company. She holds a B.F.A. and M. A. in dance from the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music and trained at the American Ballet Theatre School and the U of L Dance Academy.

Theresa Bautista
Theresa is a graduate of Indiana University and on the Dance Faculty for the Kentucky Governor’s School for the Arts. She teaches extensively in the Kentuckiana area and produces The Moving Collective, which she created. The Dance Academy welcomes Ms. Bautista to teach modern this year.

McKinley Nicoson 
McKinley Nicoson began training at the University of Louisville Dance Academy. Beginning in Creative Movement with Beth McNeill, she continued on through the school with Cynthia Bronner and Chuck Bronson. She went on to study on scholarship with American Ballet Theatre, the Walnut Hill School, the Chautauqua Institute, and the School of American Ballet (New York City Ballet). McKinley has studied under various ballet instructors including Maria Vegh, Finis Jhung, David Howard, Mikko Nissinen and Val Canaparolli. She has performed professionally with the New York City Ballet, North Carolina Dance Theatre and the Louisville Ballet.
