Location

All classes will be held in either the School of Music Building on Belknap Campus, (ground floor) or the Youth Performing Arts School, 1517 S. Second Street.

Directions to The University of Louisville Dance Academy and The UofL School of Music

The U of L campus is located south of downtown Louisville.  Due to one-way streets, directions depend upon which way you are coming to the campus.

From I-64 or I-71, take I-65 south; take the Arthur Street exit to Brandeis Avenue; turn right onto Brandeis; continue two and a half blocks (Brandeis becomes Cardinal Boulevard) and turn left into the North Entrance (just past the light at Brook Street).  As you are entering campus, the School of Music will be to your right and the Information Center is straight ahead.

If you are coming north on I-65 , follow signs toward downtown Louisville.  Take the SECOND Eastern Parkway exit (follow Speed Museum signs), bear right onto Crittendon Drive.  Turn right at the light onto Eastern Parkway.  Continue until you come to 3rd Street.  Turn right at the light onto 3rd Street.  Continue past Speed Art Museum (on right).  3rd Street will become 2nd Street at this point. Turn right at the second light onto Cardinal Boulevard.  Go one half of a block and turn right into the North Entrance. The School of Music will be on your right, the Information Center straight ahead.

Parking

We can help you organize carpools in September. Saturdays, you may park in the lots directly next to the School of Music at no charge. Since we are at the edge of campus, it may be easiest before 5:00 p.m. to find a spot on one of the surrounding streets or even the lot at Manual H.S. when available (after school hours). Paid parking is available at several places. After 4:30 you may pay $3.00 and park in the visitors lot across the street.

The Speed Museum Garage is available (on the other side of the circle out front) and we have tickets which you can pick up from us - 6 tickets for $9.00. You may purchase a Purple U of L permit for $80.00 (available at Dept. of Public Safety at Floyd St. garage) which will get you into the lot adjacent to the SOM after 5:00 PM on a space-available basis. When you register ask for a parking authorization for the U of L Permit. Many people use the 15-min. meters for quick drop-off and pick-up of students. The visitor lot will accommodate quick drop offs only a couple of times each semester. Do not block traffic or park in front of the Planetarium. If you are stopped in the loading zone, you must have flashers on.
