E-Weekly Newsletter March 2011

Week of March 18, 2011

Dropping gwise. from email address
Faculty and staff who conduct business with outside vendors should ask those vendors NOW to change your address syntax, dropping gwise. from your email address. This is critical because when we move to Exchange this fall our GroupWise addresses will cease to be valid and invalid addresses will bounce back. Emails to students already require the new format. To play it safe, you might as well begin notifying everyone outside UofL that you email regularly about this change.

userid@louisville.edu                 correct format now and later with Exchange

             userid@gwise.louisville.edu     wrong format

This past weekend, music history faculty members Doug Shadle and John Hausmann presented at the American Musicological Society South-Central chapter meeting at Centre College. Graduate student Theresa Cole also presented and won the Rey M. Longyear prize for best student paper. This is the second year running that a UofL student has taken the prize!

Tonight the Louisville Orchestra will perform Shostakovich's Eighth Symphony. You may join Maestro Jorge Mester and John Hausmann before the concert for some erudite conversation at 7pm in the Mary Anderson Room, Scott Dowd, moderator.
