Brad Ritchie will be away from campus until August 21 on an invited nine-week job as Assistant to the Film Scoring Program/Electronic Music Studio Coordinator for the Aspen Music Festival School. He'll be working with film scoring students in addition to making sure their computer lab and recordings operate, working along side many guest artists and composers. The Office of the President is accepting nominations for Outstanding Performance Awards to recognize staff for their outstanding performance and commitment to service. Recipients receive a plaque, a $1000 cash award, a letter of appreciation for their personnel files, and a reception hosted by President Ramsey. The criteria and form are here, http://louisville.edu/president/initiatives/performanceawards, and the deadline for submitting a nomination is Friday, July 8.

Marc Satterwhite had a 3-day residency at the Center for Creative Studies at the University of California-Santa Barbara. He gave two lectures, one on his music and one on the Grawemeyer Award, a number of private lessons, and the UCSB Ensemble for Contemporary Music performed two of his compositions at their final concert of the 2010-11 academic year.
