John Kays
Music History
John Kays has been involved in music history instruction at the
University of Louisville for over 12 years. He holds a M.Div degree
from Louisville Presbyterian Seminary, a M.Mus from the University of
Louisville in music composition, and a Ph.D. in musicology jointly from
the University of Louisville and the University of Kentucky. His
doctoral dissertation is entitled, "The Music of Chinary Ung: A
Synthesis of Asian Aesthetics and Western Technique." He contributed
the article about Chinary Ung for the New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians in the January 2002 edition.
