Audrey Walstrom
Applied Music Studies, Voice - Soprano
Audrey Walstrom, mezzo-soprano, hails originally from Los Alamos, New Mexico. She earned a B.Mus in Voice and a B.A. in History cum laude from Rice University. Miss Walstrom holds a Master's degree from the College-Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati, where she is currently pursuing her doctoral studies with a cognate in Vocal Pedagogy. She is researching the historical context of animal imagery in French mélodie for her DMA document. Ms. Walstrom has participated in summer festivals at Aspen, the Music Academy of the West, and the Santa Fe Opera. She has also performed with Cincinnati Opera, the Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra, the Bach Society of Dayton, Vocal Arts Ensemble, and Dayton Opera. Ms. Walstrom was a National Semi-Finalist in the 2011 Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions after winning the Ohio District and Central Region rounds of the competition. She will be teaching studio voice and Vocal Pedagogy at U of L during the 2011-2012 school year.
