Mark J. Lynn

 Assistant Director of Bands/Assistant Director of the Cardinal Marching Band Mark J. Lynn, Assistant Director of Bands and Assistant Director of Marching Band, joined the University of Louisville music faculty in the Fall of 2011. His primary duties include working with the Cardinal Marching Band, University Concert Band, liaison to UofL Athletics, and teaching undergraduate conducting classes and music education courses. Prior to his present position, he was the Director of Athletic Bands and Instructor of Trumpet at Texas Woman’s University in Denton, TX and Instructor of Trumpet and Horn at Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, TX. Over the past seven years he has performed with the Dallas Opera, Dallas Wind Symphony, Fort Worth Opera, Memphis Jazz Orchestra, Jackson Symphony Orchestra (TN), Lone Star Wind Orchestra, and is currently a member of Chamber Winds Louisville. In addition to his duties at the University of Louisville, Dr. Lynn also serves as the instructor of trumpet at Bellarmine University.

Originally from Louisville, Kentucky, Dr. Lynn holds a B.M. from the University of Louisville, M.M. from the University of Memphis, and D.M.A from the University of North Texas. His primary teachers include Kraig Williams, Eugene Corporon, Keith Johnson, David Spencer, Michael Tunnell, and Herbert Koerselman.
