eighth blackbird Reading Session

On November 13, 2004, the Composition Program sponsored a reading session by the eighth blackbird for student composers. Eight students were selected to write short works for the eighth blackbird to read and record.* The entire four hour session was professionally recorded in 24-bit digital audio. Each student had 30 minutes to work with the group, which included at least two complete performances of their piece, as well as questions and commentary. Following the reading session, each student received a CD of their reading, to be used for applications and promotional purposes.
