Performance Requirements
Students in the Saxophone Studio are required to perform and will be tested on the following:
Scales:
- Major and all modes (Dorian, Phrygian, Lydian, Mixolydian (Dominant), Aeolian and Locrian (Half-Diminished).
- Melodic Minor and all modes (Lydian Dominant, Lydian Augmented and Locrian #2).
- Harmonic Minor
- Symmetrical (Chromatic, Whole-Tone, Diminished (HW and WH) and Augmented)
- Blues
- Pentatonic (Major and Minor)
Chords:
- Triads (Major, Minor, Augmented and Diminished)
- Sevenths (Major, Dominant, Minor, Half-Diminished, Diminished, Dominant #5, Dominant b5, Minor Major 7 and Major #5)
- Ninths (Major, Dominant, Minor, Half-Diminished, Dominant #5, Dominant b5, Dominant b9, Dominant #5#9 and Minor Major 7)
- Root to Thirteenth (Major, Major #11, Dominant, Dominant #11, Dominant #5, Minor, Minor Major 7 and Half-Diminished)
