The Traditional Program offers lessons to students of all ages and abilities wishing to further their knowledge of music and gain a greater proficiency in musical performance. Lessons are provided in Bass, Brass, Composition, Guitar (group and individual), Harp, Percussion, Piano, Strings, Theory, Voice, and Woodwinds.

Admission is open to any beginning, intermediate, or advanced student. No prior musical experience is required. Students having had more than one year of previous instruction need to contact Dr. Stephen Mattingly at s.mattingly(at)louisville.edu or (502) 852-5607 to arrange a placement interview.

Students are encouraged to enroll in Music Theory/Appreciation classes for a solid understanding of the music they are learning.
