Classes in Guitar, Music Appreciation and Theory are offered to students of all levels in skill-targeted group settings.

Music Appreciation / Composition / Theory

Private lessons in Brass, Composition, Harp, Guitar, Organ, Percussion, Piano, Strings, Voice, and Woodwinds are offered to students of all ages wishing to further their knowledge of music and gain a greater proficiency in musical performance. More information on specific areas of instruction may be found below.

• Admission is open to any beginning, intermediate, or advanced student. No prior musical experience is required. Students having had more  than one year of previous instruction need to contact Dr. Stephen Mattingly at s.mattingly@louisville.edu or (502) 852-5607 to arrange a placement interview.

• Students are encouraged to enroll in Music Theory/Appreciation classes for a deeper understanding of the music they  are learning.
