John S. Moore has served as saxophone instructor at the state University of New York at Stony Brook, Campbellsville College and the University of Kentucky. Over the years John has maintained a private studio and he currently teaches at Indiana University Southeast in New Albany, Indiana and the University of Louisville. For several years he served as co coordinator of Chamber Music at the Saxophone Institute, a summer camp for saxophonists of all ages to work together as equals. In the summer of 2002 he organized the Cardinal Saxophone Workshop which is held on the campus of the University of Louisville.
Mr. Moore has performed professionally as a member of The Trio (alto, tenor and baritone saxophones), Trio Bel Canto (alto saxophone, tenor saxophone and piano), Aeolian Saxophone Quartet, The Saxophone Sinfonia (18 saxophonists), New York Chamber Saxophones (12 saxophonists) and the New Sousa Band. He has performed in Australia, Canada, Japan and the United States and has been recorded on Ethos Recordings, Golden Crest, Mars Hill College Recordings, and Dinant Records. As a member of Trio Bel Canto he was a Bronze medalist at the First Osaka International Chamber Music Competition and Festa held in Osaka, Japan and as a soloist he has been a semifinalist in the Concert Artists Guild International New York Competition.
