Bio: John Kays

Music History

John KaysJohn Kays has been involved in music history instruction at the University of Louisville for over 12 years. He holds a M.Div degree from Louisville Presbyterian Seminary, a M.Mus from the University of Louisville in music composition, and a Ph.D. in musicology jointly from the University of Louisville and the University of Kentucky. His doctoral dissertation is entitled, "The Music of Chinary Ung: A Synthesis of Asian Aesthetics and Western Technique." He contributed the article about Chinary Ung for the New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians in the January 2002 edition. Email John Kays - Click here!
