Kendra Sheehan

Part-Time Lecturer of Japanese

As a PhD candidate for the University of Louisville’s Humanities Program, I am not so far removed from being a student myself. I pride myself on working with and helping students to develop the critical thinking skills to guide them in their role as global citizens. In addition, I encourage my students in their early steps of cultural literacy by teaching courses that provide close examinations of Japanese culture through its cinema and popular culture.

Courses commonly taught:
ML 313: Japanese Pop Culture (face-to-face)
ML 310: Japanese Culture through Film (online)

Areas of Interest:
Asian Religions (Specifically those of Japan)
Japanese Film
Japanese Popular Culture
Japanese Literature
