STARTALK programs
Grades K-12:
About the Program
Exploring Arabic, Connecting with the World! is an intensive,
immersion-based program developed to teach Arabic language skills
and understanding about the cultures of Arabic-speaking countries.
This program is made free to participants by a grant awarded to the
Arabic Language and Culture Institute of Louisville by the National
Security Agency and the National Foreign Language Center.
What to Expect
Participants will be immersed in world of Arabic language and culture
each day, practice their language skills on an ongoing basis, as well as
with Arabic speakers locally and internationally, through group Skype
conversations to the Middle East.
Program Requirements
This is a highly competitive program with limited spaces. Requirements
include: 100% participation from students in the classroom and 100%
attendance.
Grades 6-8, 9-12* (incoming): June 17 - July 6
9:00 - 3:00 M-F (July 4th-holiday)
* graduating seniors (class of 2013) are eligible
Grades K-2, 3-5 (incoming): July 15 - 27
8:30-12:30 M-F
