Adult Cystic Fibrosis Program
Thanks to advances in pulmonary medicine, people with cystic fibrosis (CF) are living longer and enjoying a better quality of life. According to the CF Foundation, more than 40 percent of Americans with CF are age 18 or older. While there is no cure for CF, specialized medical care, aggressive drug treatments and therapies, along with proper nutrition, can both lengthen and improve the quality of life for those with CF.
Our Adult CF Clinic, part of the University of Louisville's CF Foundation Center of Excellence, partners with patients with CF and their families to keep them in the best health possible.
Our clinic provides a medical home and continuity of treatment, bringing together a multidisciplinary team including a pulmonary physician, respiratory therapist, nutritionist, social worker, and nurse clinical coordinator to ensure that patients receive leading-edge care, access to the newest medications and an approach that puts the patient first.
