Introduction to Clinical Medicine I and II
The department's behavioral science curriculum is presented as part of the Introduction to Clinical Medicine Course (ICM). ICM I and II is an interdisciplinary core course given during the first two years of medical school. The behavioral science components are coordinated by Dr. Tamas. Topics covered in the course include developmental, psychosocial, and interpersonal issues in medical practice, as well as interviewing techniques and patient assessment. The child psychiatry faculty, under the leadership of Allan Josephson, M.D., has taken an active role in the personality development module of this course.
