Steven Burton, M.D.
Dr. Burton is a staff psychiatrist at the VA Medical Center responsible for the acute inpatient 22 bed psychiatry unit. He received his undergraduate degree in Biology at Transylvania University and his medical degree from the University of Kentucky where he received the Cornelia B. Wilbur Award for the Outstanding Student in Psychiatry. Dr. Burton completed his internship in Internal Medicine and his psychiatric residency at the University of Louisville where he served as Chief Resident. He received his board certification in psychiatry in 1997. In addition to his clinical service, Dr. Burton supervises residents and medical students during their VA inpatient rotation and coordinates the VA weekly Journal Club/Case Conference. He is a member of Omicron Delta Kappa Honorary Society and has been the recipient of a number of VA customer service and special contribution awards.
