Christopher Peters, M.D.

Dr. Peter’s clinical service includes assessment of children and adolescents with developmental disabilities and psychiatric illnesses. He also serves as the Residency Training Director in the Child and Adolescent Division. Dr. Peters received his undergraduate degree in Chemistry at Hanover College. He obtained his medical degree at the University of Louisville. Dr. Peters completed his general psychiatry residency and child fellowship at the University of Louisville. He received his board certification in psychiatry in 2000 and in child and adolescent Psychiatry in 2006. In addition to his clinical service, Dr. Peters lectures to medical students, general psychiatry residents and child fellows on topics related to childhood somatoform disorders, mood disorders, ADHD and disruptive behavior disorders, eating disorders, gender identity disorders and use of stimulants and nonstimulants. He is a consultant to the U of L Athletic Department as part of their Performance Team and was voted “Top Doc” Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist in the Louisville area in the August 2009 Louisville Magazine’s annual Healthcare edition. Dr. Peters has published in the area of Disruptive Behavioral Disorders.
