Amanda B. Hettinger, M.D.
Associate Director of Psychiatry Residency Education
Dr. Hettinger provides outpatient psychiatric services at both adult outpatient service sites and assists the Residency Training Director in the administration of the training program. She received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Transylvania University and her medical degree from the University of Louisville. She completed her psychiatric residency training from the University of Louisville and received her board certification in psychiatry in 2008. Dr. Hettinger returned to the University of Louisville faculty after practicing in Oregon in 2007 and 2008. In addition to her clinical service, Dr. Hettinger mentors, supervises and lectures to psychiatry residents. She co-directs a cognitive-behavioral course for residents along with precepting in the outpatient resident clinic. Dr. Hettinger has developed a Formalized Track System which clarifies expectations in regard to the academic and community specialty tracks within the residency training program.
