Team Captain

Each team of 4-5 students will need a team captain.  The team captain is responsible for; coordinating the group to decide on a menu, checking the pantry and deciding which groceries to purchase, collecting the donations for the food items to be purchased, doing the grocery shopping or delegating a grocery shopper, sending a reminder to the group, making sure all volunteers sign in, signing the volunteer list for the Ronald McDonald House and supervising the activity.  Lastly, the team captain must provide a list of those who volunteered. Optional:  Take a group picture with Ronald McDonald and send for the website.

Please be sure to following the appropriate hygiene protocol to ensure the safety of the food being prepared.  Wash your hands before preparing the meal and after working with meat.  There are gloves available if you'd prefer to use them while preparing the meal.

THE MENU

The meal is to be prepared in the Ronald McDonald House kitchen unless purchased from a store deli, restaurant, caterer or ordered in.  The team decides whether the menu will be simple or more elaborate.  A suggestion for the team is to list the menu and indicate the kind of meat in case if there are food restrictions (e.g., pork), so that people will be aware of what's being served.  Please note: Not everyone is a cook, so if a team member is not comfortable with cooking, please have them assist with set up, taking food to the buffet, greeting and assisting the guests and cleaning up There is something for everyone to do!
