Community service projects are scheduled each semester. The summer 2013 community service schedule is posted. We will be serving at the Ronald McDonald House in June and July. No other group service projects will be scheduled this summer, but students are encouraged to seek out additional opportunities.
The Wayside Christian Mission is a homeless shelter that provides many services to meet the needs of our local homeless population; men, women and children. Your involvement can help make a difference! No dates have been scheduled for the summer, but feel free to volunteer on your own.
The Ronald McDonald House community service project is with the Adopt-A-Meal Program. We prepare and serve meals to the families residing there while their child is in the hospital. Breakfast/brunch or dinner is served on the weekends by volunteers. The summer dates are posted! Please pick one date to volunteer.
Volunteers of America is always seeking volunteers. You can volunteer anytime during the year or for special events. We do not have any upcoming outreach opportunities for the summer 2013 semester, however, you are welcome to volunteer on your own.
In addition to our group community service projects at the Ronald McDonald House and at Wayside Christian Mission, if time allows, please consider volunteer at one of our area hospitals. We currently have some of our students volunteering at University and Kosair Children's Hospital.
The Harambee Health Center located in the Presbyterian Community Center offers numerous outreach opportunities to the surrounding community. No service projects have been scheduled this summer. You are welcome to volunteer on your own during the summer.
To verify that you volunteered at the Harambee Health Center, you must have this form signed by Dr. Kay Roberts or another HCC staff person or Volunteer Leader.
