The primary focus of the lab is on the role of copper nutrition in microvascular control mechanisms. We use both in vivo and in vitro techniques to study inflammatory processes including macromolecular leakage, platelet thrombus formation, vasoreactivity and leukocyte-endothelial cell interactions. This work has received national recognition from the American Society of Nutritional Sciences in the form of its BioServe Award for Experimental Animal Nutrition.
