Application and Interview Process
Once your completed application has been submitted through ERAS, we will review it and select candidates for interviews. Candidates who are selected for an interview will receive either a phone call or an e-mail from the Office of Medical Education (OME) with more information about scheduling an interview.
Interviews are typically scheduled October through December and run from 7:45 a.m. to about 2 p.m. Out-of-town guests will receive specifics for lodging and transportation prior to their arrival. Additionally, out-of-town candidates will receive detailed information about the interview schedule the evening before the interview; local candidates should contact the Office of Medical Education to pick up their itineraries. During the interview, candidates will meet with the program director and faculty, have lunch with the residents, tour Kosair Children’s Hospital, meet the support staff and attend a conference, such as Morning Report.
All candidates will be invited to join some of our residents for an informal dinner at a local Louisville restaurant the night before the interview. Casual attire is appropriate for dinner.
