Mr. Womack, who grew up in Louisville, received a B.A. in
Biology in 1986 from Indiana University, Bloomington. After
several years of retail management experience, he received
a B.S. in Medical Technology from Indiana University School
of Medicine Medical Technology Program. He was Certified by
the American Society of Clinical Pathology Board of Registration
in 1994 and has been an associate member since then. He has
had seven years of clinical laboratory experience as a generalist
in large, medium, and small hospitals. Prior to joining the
lab, he authored a paper for ASCP's Laboratory Medicine. Since
joining the lab in 2001, he has been a co-author on two papers
and a poster.
Mr. Womack has been involved in numerous projects for the
DRL as well as the DLIF sections of the Valdes Laboratories.
He has used HPLC chromatography and ELISA to isolate, purify
and identify cardioglycosides from several sources and has
been involved in a 501k FDA submission study. Mr. Womack's
outside interests include amateur radio, weather spotting
and emergency communications.
