The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine offers a fully approved program in anatomic and clinical pathology. The AP/CP program requires four years of training and includes autopsy, surgical and cytopathology, pediatric pathology, hematology,transfusion med., microbiology, toxicology, clinical chemistry and immunohematology. In addition, rotations in electron microscopy, immunohistochemistry, dermatopathology, tissue typing, neuropathology, molecular diagnostics and lab management are included. Residents are given opportunities and encouraged to participate in research and teaching activities. Approved fellowships in forensic pathology, cytopathology, transfusion medicine and clinical chemistry (two years) are also offered.
