James W. Snyder, Ph.D. is a professor in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine and Chief of Microbiology at the U of L Hospital. Dr. Snyder earned his Ph.D. in Biology (Medical Microbiology) from the University of Dayton.

Specialties Include:
Medical Mycology, Bioterrorism, Molecular Diagnostics of Infectious Diseases

Research Interests:
Product and Instrument Evaluation; In Vitro Activity of New Antibiotics; Fungal physiology, Molecular Diagnostics, Opthalmic infections and effectiveness of antibiotics.

Dr. Snyder serves as the American Society for Microbiology Reprsentative to the Laboratory Response Network Working Group for preparation and response to bioterrorism and emerging infectious diseases.
