Jonathan Weeks, M.D.

Dr. Weeks received his medical degree from the University of Kentucky, where he graduated with distinction in 1984. His internship and residency were at Naval Hospital in Oakland California. While at the Naval Hospital he received the outstanding intern award in 1985 and the Best Teaching Resident Award in 1989. Having served as a ship’s Medical Officer for one year and a Naval obstetrician/gynecologist for two years, Dr. Weeks completed his Navy scholarship obligation in 1991. For the next two years, he completed his Maternal-Fetal Medicine (Perinatology) fellowship training at the University of California, Irvine and Long Beach Memorial Medical Centers. He is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology as well as Maternal Fetal Medicine.
Dr. Weeks practiced medicine for nearly 20 years. During his career, he has made numerous contributions to the medical literature. He received a Society of Maternal-Fetal Medicine award for research excellence in 1998. Dr. Weeks served on the Society of Maternal Fetal Medicine Board of Directors from 2002 – 2005 and he was a FDA Ob/Gyn Devices panel member from 2003 – 2007 (he will continue to serve as a consultant for that panel through 2011). Of note, he is a member of the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Society and also a reviewer for the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Weeks has received many honors and awards including the Best Teaching Faculty, presented by the 1996 senior residents, University of Louisville School of Medicine. Dr. Weeks was recognized as an outstanding practitioner by Best Doctors in America in 1998, 1999, 2003, 2005, 2006 and 2007.
