Dr. Elaine Stauble received a BA in Chemistry from Bellarmine University, magna cum laude, in Louisville, KY in 1975, and completed her Medical degree at the University of Louisville School of Medicine, in 1979. 

Dr. Stauble completed a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Louisville School of Medicine, in 1983, serving as chief resident from March 1 until April 30, 1983. 

Dr. Stauble is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and has been practicing OBGYN for 24 years as a private practitioner.   She joined the faculty full time in July 2007 as a generalist.  She is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and has been continuously since 1985.  She has been active in the Kentucky section of ACOG and currently serves as Treasurer for that section.  In the recent past, Dr. Stauble served as chair of the KY section of AMWA. 

Her research interests include postoperative pain control, and access to contraception for indigent women.  She has an interest in thrombophilias and their obstetric impact, as well as menopausal issues.

Dr. Stauble is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the Kentucky Medical Association, and the Greater Louisville Medical Society.
