Faculty evaluations
After each rotation, residents are individually evaluated by appropriate faculty members.
Peer evaluations
Residents have the opportunity to evaluate each other.
Program director evaluations
- The program director reviews resident performance twice annually and conducts an exit interview with each post-graduate year 4 (PGY-4) resident.
- Experience summaries, case lists and faculty evaluations are reviewed.
- Individual academic goals are addressed.
- Performance on the Council on Resident Education in Obstetrics and Gynecology (CREOG) examination is discussed.
- Deficiencies are addressed by establishing study programs between residents and faculty mentors, as appropriate.
Faculty Advisory Committee
- The Faculty Advisory Committee assigns each PGY-1 resident a faculty mentor; residents can elect to continue with the same mentor throughout their residency.
- Twice annually, the program director presents a summary of resident evaluations to the Faculty Advisory Committee.
- The progress of each second-year resident is discussed in-depth in terms of his or her ability to assume PGY-3 level responsibilities.
