Adair Heyl, PhD

Dr. Adair Heyl

Dr. Adair Heyl served as Emory University School of Medicine Director of Faculty Affairs in their Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics until November, 2011. Previously she had served as the department's Vice Chair for Education.

Dr. Heyl's research focuses on the development of educational curricula for adult learners (medical students, residents, and fellows in obstetrics and gynecology) that implement well organized goals and objectives, objective-based evaluations, and structured program improvement measures to teach the core competencies of medical training. Specific areas of interest include interpersonal skills and professionalism development and facilitated mentoring as ways to improve learner performance. She has served on national planning committees for numberous meetings of the American Residency Coordinators in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Heyl was an editor of Connections, a publication of the American Medical Women's Association, and an associate editor of the Journal of the American Medical Women's Association.
