Minimally Invasive Surgery
Our nationally-recognized program focuses on a wide range of minimally invasive, advanced laparoscopic procedures. In addition to performing total and supracervical hysterectomies laparoscopically, our expert faculty perform advanced laparoscopic surgeries such as laparoscopic myomectomy, laparoscopic treatment of endometriosis and pelvic pain, pelvic floor reconstruction, and treatment for urinary incontinence.
Education
The University of Louisville Fellowship Program in Minimally Invasive Pelvis Surgery, begun in 2001, is SRS-approved and sponsored by the AAGL/SRS. This program is one of only a few such programs available in the country.
The one-year academic program, not only offers fellows academic experience and an opportunity to teach residents, but also a rotation through a very active practice, Associates in OB/GYN. Fellows experience the entire gamut of endoscopic surgery, including urogynecologic procedures and pelvic reconstruction. Fellows will also attend and work in the fresh tissue laboratory, an outstanding and unique opportunity to learn anatomy on the cadaver by laparoscopy. Learn more about this Fellowship,
