Top-notch physician educators. Our highly qualified, board-certified faculty physicians are nationally recognized for their medical competence and surgical skills. Areas of expertise. Our Department provides multidisciplinary consultative health services in the following specialties: gynecology, family planning, obstetric care, maternal-fetal medicine, endocrinology and infertility care, minimally invasive surgery, gynecologic oncology, pediatric and adolescent gynecology, and urogynecology and reconstructive pelvic surgery.

At the University of Louisville Health Sciences Campus our patients’ needs come first. While physician trainees refine their technical competencies, we teach them by example to treat patients with sensitivity and compassion.
A ‘real-world’ learning environment.
Future physicians have the unique advantage at the University of Louisville of working with patients in a private medical practice as well as in an academic medical practice. This experience provides them a seamless transition from trainee to practicing physician.
An inclusive patient population.
Each year physicians affiliated with the University of Louisville and University Hospital provide reproductive healthcare services to 20,000 women and deliver about 2,300 babies. These patients largely stem from a broad cross section of the greater Louisville and southern Indiana population.
Intellectual stimulation.
We believe in lifelong learning. Our faculty physicians participate in basic and clinical research on pregnancy outcomes, reproduction and infertility, and the treatment of gynecologic cancers. We consider this work to be of crucial importance in advancing women’s health care.
