Dr. Kirzinger joins the Department of Neurology at the University of Louisville after 19 years in adult neurology private practice. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Neurology and assumes the role of Medical Director of the Multiple Sclerosis Program at the University. He has been Director of the Multiple Sclerosis Center at Baptist Hospital East for the last eight years. He will continue in that capacity as well as becoming Director of the Frazier Rehabilitation Hospital Multiple Sclerosis Center.
He has been involved in Clinical Research in Neurology for the last seven years and will continue to work in multiple sub-specialty research studies. A member of the Association of Clinical Research Professionals, he has been the principle investigator in over 70 clinical studies. His clinical research team joins him at the research office.
Dr. Kirzinger received his undergraduate education at Centre College and completed a Master's in Biochemistry and his Medical Degree at the University of Louisville. He completed his adult neurology residency at Walter Reed Medical Center. He is a Colonel (Retired) in the U.S. Army Reserve.
Dr. Kirzinger is on the Board of Governors of the Jefferson county Medical society, President of the medical Society Professional Services Organization, Delegate to the Kentucky Medical Association, and member of the American Medical Association. He is on the Education Committee for the consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centers and a Board Member of the Kentucky and Southeast INdiana Chapter of the National MS Society. He is treasurer for the Kentucky and Southern Indiana Stroke Association and Member of the Board since 1999.
