Housing in and around Louisville
Description of various housing options in the Louisville metro area.
Many medical students choose to live near the downtown medical center campus. However, some students live in Southern Indiana or in more suburban areas of Louisville. The best advice is to find some upperclassmen to ask for their opinion regarding housing options. There are on-campus housing options (Med-Dent Apartments).
A few popular areas include:
1. Mellwood Avenue Area: River Hill Apartments, Highwood Place, and River Oak Apartments.
2. Highlands Area: Many apartment complexes and older (and usually large) restored homes.
3. The Summit: An upscale area located in the northeast corner of Jefferson County with quick access to the Gene Snyder Expressway and Interstate 71.
4. Downtown: Phoenix Place
