Wiese, bronchial thermoplasty featured in C-J

Dr. Tanya Wiese and the new bronchial thermoplasty treatment first available at U of L are featured on A-1 of the May 31, 2012 edition of the Courier-Journal.

When an expert source is needed, the community once again turns to the University of Louisville Department of Medicine.

Tanya Wiese, D.O., of the U of L Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Disorders Medicine, was one of two area doctors featured in the May 31, 2012 edition of the Courier-Journal in an article exploring the new Alair Bronchial Thermoplasty System, the first non-pharmacological treatment for adults with severe, persistent asthma who don't respond to standard medical interventions.

Among the topics covered by writer Laura Unger is the positive results for a patient suffering from severe asthma, and the future for the new treatment.
