U of L residency training program throws perfect match game

All of the U of L Internal Medicine Residency Program residents seeking fellowship appointments were matched successfully.

Major League Baseball pitchers weren't the only ones throwing perfect games this season.

All of the U of L Internal Medicine Residency Program residents seeking fellowship appointments were matched successfully, including six at the University of Louisville.

It is the second consecutive year the program has achieved a perfect match record.

"This is a tremendous success for our program and for our residents," Dr. Barbara Casper, director of the Internal Medicine Residency Program, said. "I am pleased that so many of them will be staying at U of L for their training and I know that those who will be going elsewhere will represent us well."

  • Amber Vasquez - The Ohio State University (Infectious Diseases)
  • Nicole Kershner - University of Louisville (Gastroenterology)
  • Abigail Stocker - University of Louisville (Gastroenterology)
  • Joey Warren - University of Louisville (Gastroenterology)
  • Martin Espinosa - University of Louisville (Cardiology)
  • Brandon Elmore - University of Louisville (Cardiology)
