Francis Collins, M.D., Ph.D., director of the National Institutes of Health, talked to local media Aug. 25 about the importance of NIH funding to the University of Louisville and other institutions before leading a public forum on the future direction of biomedical research.
Collins, a guest of Kentucky Sen. Mitch McConnell, spoke to the media at a press conference in the new Clinical and Translational Research Building on the Health Sciences Campus of the University of Louisville.
