BCC offers low-dose CT lung cancer screening

by Puckett,Jason last modified Feb 13, 2012 05:02 PM

Low-Dose CT for early detection of lung cancer is intended for patients with an elevated risk of lung cancer.

The University of Louisville's James Graham Brown Cancer Center has assembled the best and most comprehensive team in the region for the diagnosis and treatment of lung cancer.

The Lung Nodule Clinic at the U of L Health Care Outpatient Center provides additional diagnostic work if necessitated by the CT Screening. The clinic is the only one of its kind in the region, offering navigational bronchoscopy and other advanced diagnostic techniques.

Whether a nodule is found through a screening at the Brown Cancer Center or another testing, the clinic can provide follow up diagnostics and care within two days of request.

If cancer is found, the cancer center's Multidisciplinary Lung Cancer Clinic offers a comprehensive range of therapeutic options. The team is comprised of physicians, nurses and other health care professionals who specialize exclusively in the care of lung cancer patients.
