Awards roll in at faculty excellence celebration
Several U of L doctors recognized for their efforts.
Dr. Sumanth Prabhu of the University of Louisville Division of Cardiovascular Medicine was one many Department of Medicine members who were recognized at U of L's 2010 Celebration of Faculty Excellence.
The University of Louisville Department of Medicine may soon have to invest in a trophy case.
Several members of the department were recently honored at the 2010 U of L Celebration of Faculty Excellence held in the Brown & Williamson Club at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium.
Hosting the event were U of L President Dr. James Ramsey, Provost Dr. Shirley Willihnganz and Dr. William M. Pierce, Interim Executive Vice President for Research.
"We are proud to have stellar faculty in the department," Dr. Jesse Roman, Chairman of the University of Louisville Department of Medicine said. "The award ceremony highlighted their strengths and we anticipate that they will continue to contribute to our mission in ways that will enhance U of L's visibility among our peer organizations."

Also, five members of the department were honored with the Paul Weber Award for Departmental Excellence in Teaching. That group includes:
