Already noted for their medical skills, a pair of University of Louisville doctors have now been recognized for their business expertise as well.
Dr. Roberto Bolli and Dr. Jesse Roman were named "Partners in Health Care" by the Business First of Louisville newspaper, the prominent business publication in Metro Louisville.
Bolli and Roman were among 173 area health care professionals named to the list that was published Friday in a special section of the newspaper.
Bolli is currently the vice chairman for research, Department of Medicine, University of Louisville School of Medicine, plus chief of the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine and director of the Institute of Molecular Cardiology.
Roman serves as chairman of the Department of Medicine, University of Louisville School of Medicine.
Nominated in the fall of 2009, the winners were selected this month for the fifth edition of the Partners in Health Care section.
According to Business First, "These professionals' contributions are not related to providing treatment as much as they are to providing business acumen. They are our 'Partners in Health Care.'
"We believe it is important to honor these behind-the-scenes professionals to show appreciation for their contributions. And it's also essential to let our readers know who the movers and shakers are in the Louisville health care economy," the newspaper reported.
